Are You Afraid To Work?

Why is it that we proclaim to be devout Believers, but are afraid to work? How is it that we can work with a spirit of excellence in secular sectors, but refuse to operate in the same manner as it to our spiritual development? I dare you to work out your own salvation… after all, I was given to you; the least you could do is work for it! Do you believe your salvation is worth working for?

Now that is a word! I was feeling the same thing in my spirit. Why is it that we give the BEST to things that are seasonal when God gives us something that is eternal? The Bible says, "only what you do for Christ will last".

Well Jay, I will have to agree with you on that one. We can yell to the top of our voice that we are believers and express it to the next person, but yet we don't do anything to show that we are believers! Every excuse in the book comes up as to why we can't become active in our community or church. We not only need to learn the Word of God, but live it everyday!

oh yeah...my salvation is worth working for?
In my understanding, salvation works out three areas of life. First, salvation keeps me from hurt, harm or danger.  Second, it refurbishes my spirit. Last, salvation restores my relationship with God and keeps me on the right track. Therefore, I revisit each of these areas and look for ways to increase my faith in God. Because without faith in the father than salvation will not be relevant in my life.
In my life, I engage in activities so that God will receive all the Glory. No matter if it is a secular event or spiritual event, I believe there is an opportunity to show God’s grace.  I think that it is difficult to “go hard” for Christ in a situation where leadership is not acting in the best interest of God. I believe that leaders should never stop learning. So often a leader’s plan for events will reflect strategies that are out dated. When those plans are put into play, they are not well received. As a result, participants will support with little or no effort. When leaders understand that there are more than one way to lead, than he or she will see more people going hard for Christ. It is sad but it is true. We as a people have taught each other that depending on how you treat me is how I will perform. When in reality, no one should determine your performance but God. Although we know that it is for Him and through Him we exist, we tend to say “I will do it for God but not for man.” So what man has to do is say:
1.  Am I being fair and impartial in this particular situation?
2.  Am I sober, watchful, and diligent, so that I do not damage those who watch me? (1 Tim. 3:3)
3.  Do I wait patiently for results as I develop people or goals?
